Dangers of drinking soda that lurking the pregnant mothers

Research shows, when prospective mothers consume a lot of sugar, especially from soft drinks, their children have weak problem-solving and verbal memory abilities. These children also have the lower level of intelligence related to verbal and non-verbal knowledge.

The study found that drinking soda during pregnancy is also associated with weak motor, visual, and spatial abilities when the child is 3 years old. At the age of 7, children are also reported to have worse verbal abilities.

"Everyone wants the best for their children, and one way to prevent that is to limit the intake of additional sugar, especially sweet drinks such as soda" said researcher from Merrimack College, United States, Juliana Cohen, quoted from Health Day.

Other research, quoted from The Daily Mail, also found almost the same thing about the effect of soft drinks during pregnancy. The habit of consuming sweet drinks and soda during pregnancy makes their children more likely to develop asthma when they are 7 to 9 years old.

In a study published in the Annals of the American Thoracic Society, the researchers concluded that there is a correlation between fructose in sugary drinks and soda which could potentially cause inflammation in the lungs.
