News24xx.com - ISIS claims for the first time that it has been established its own "province" in India. This claim was made after clashes between militants and security forces in the Kashmir region were said to have killed a suspected militant linked to the group.

Quoted from Reuters, the Amaq News Agency owned by ISIS on Friday night, May 10th 2019 announced the new province, which was later called "Hind Region". In its statement, ISIS also claimed their attacks had caused casualties to Indian soldiers in the city of Amshipora, Shopian district, Kashmir. The ISIS statement complies with the statement of Indian police who also called a militant named Ishfaq Ahmad Sofi who killed at a meeting in Shopian.

The establishment of a new province by ISIS seems designed to improve its position after the group was expelled from its own fake "caliphate" in Iraq and Syria in April. Since then, ISIS has increased its suicide attacks, including taking responsibility for the Easter Sunday bombing in Sri Lanka that killed at least 253 people.

"The establishment of this 'province' carried out in areas that do not have government actually makes no sense, but should not be ignored" said Rita Katz, director of the SITE Intel Group which tracks Islamic extremists. According to her, the world might direct attention to this development, but for jihadists in these vulnerable regions, this is a significant signal to help lay the foundation for rebuilding the ISIS 'caliphate map.
