Illustration Illustration - Every fan of the animation series Avatar: The Last Airbender must know that the main character, Aang, is not the only Avatar out there. He is the latest in line of the Avatars, the only people known to be able to control the four elements in the Avatar universe.

Before Aang, there are several other Avatars. Aang relied mainly on Avatar Roku, his immediate predecessor, but as revealed by The Last Airbender Series, and its sequel, Avatar: The Legend of Korra, there are other cool and interesting Avatars before them. One of them is a powerful woman from the Earth Kingdom named Kyoshi.

Among the Avatars, Avatar Kyoshi is known to be the strongest, the greatest and the most fearsome that had ever lived. In fact, Kyoshi is so popular among fans that she got her own story titled The Rise of Kyoshi.

The novel is written by writer F.C. Yee, who has been collaborating with the co-creator of Avatar, Michael Dante DiMartino. The prequel novel The Rise of Kyoshi will be released on July 16th 2019.

The novel tells the life of Kyoshi as an Avatar and her accomplishments. She is known to be the longest-living Avatar and human, dying at the age of 230. She founded the Kyoshi warriors, a brigade of female soldiers armed with war fans. She was the only person that Chin the Conqueror could not defeat.
