News24xx.com -  The booming of e-commerce business seems to make Chinese Government felt the need to create a special tribunal.

The focus is addressing legal issues related to e-commerce and other cases in the virtual world.


The Court is located in the city of Hangzhou, about an hour's drive from Shanghai. The location of this Court related to Hangzhou is referred to as the capital of China's e-commerce, and also 'home' to Alibaba and NetEase.


China's legislation requires a lawsuit against a company must be registered in the company's hometown. And during the last few years, there is a drastic increasing number of e-commerce casesin Hangzhou, from 600 cases in 2013 into 10 thousand in 2016.


The case will be handled by this Court related various problems with online shopping, internet service contract issues, copyright infringement on the internet, until financial loans executed online.

Not only cases that are associated with crimes in cyberspace, the Court also accepts registration of the case electronically, even the trial would be broadcast directly through cyberspace, as quoted from The Verge, on Monday, August 21 2017.


The plaintiff can submit evidence remotely through cyber court accounts which had previously been made.

While all the trial-related data transmission is encrypted by Alibaba Cloud.
