A British Airways engineer dies after crash between two vehicles on the Tarmac at London Heathrow One of the two vehicles involved in the accident

News24xx.com -  A British Airways engineer was killed after two vehicles collided at the airport at Heathrow Airport this morning.

The victim, aged 40 yo, suffered a heart attack after an accident at Tarmac near Terminal Lima at 6 am. The paramedics tried to resuscitate him at the scene and on the way to the hospital but unfortunately he died.

Another driver, who was treated at the scene, suffered a broken shoulder.

Scotland Yard said that there was no arrest, but the Health and Safety Executive has been notified.

It also caused hundreds of passengers must be evacuated from a plane following an incident between two operational vehicles, with thousands more delaying until two hours because the disruption struck more than 25 flights.


A BA spokesman said: "We are very saddened by this tragic incident and we offer full care and support to families and victims."

Kevin Fitzgibbon, from Wokingham, Berkshire, said, "It was a sad day at work today and we had to lose one of our engineering colleagues this morning after he collapsed on T5 Heathrow road."


An Alastair passenger named MacLeod said: "I rode through B48 at about 6:40 am. We went up, waited, and then the captain gave a series of apologies and we had to postpone further announcements."


A police spokesman said: 'The police were called at 6.06 am on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 after a collision occurred between two airport vehicles on a taxiway at Heathrow Airport. A man in his 40s, was taken to a hospital in west London with serious injuries. He has died ".
