This is the suggestion for exercising while fasting in Ramadan


Illustration Illustration - The month of Ramadan is a special month for Muslims, because in that month all Muslims are required to do fasting for one full month. Starting from dawn to dusk, they are not allowed to eat or drink.

Despite the fasting, Dr. Dante Saksono Harbuwono, SpPD-KEMD, PhD said that we still should do exercise. In order for fasting not cancel due to sports, the duration of exercise does not have to be as long and hard as the usual day.

"at minimun is 60 percent than the usual sports duration, if you usually run 10 kilometers then just do 6 km when fasting" said Dr. Dante, at Workshop How to excersice Effectively During Ramadan, Onthree Senopati Suites.

The sport is not a heavy one, if you do the heavy one, then the fasting will be canceled because of fatigue. Simply do the light exercise such as walking, running, or doing some gymnastics.

"Wrong understanding that sports make us limp during the fasting, but it is important to exercise regularly" said Dr. Dante, who also enjoys on running.

Keep also in mind, the diet should also be right for the sport is not done in vain. Do not get minded because it was exercising so we can eat all the food when breaking the fast.

"Avoid oily foods and contain lots of salt, consume 2.5 liters of fluid a day after breaking the fast" he concluded.
