In his remarks, Regent Alfedri welcomed the collaboration between the Government of Siak Regency and the Riau Center for Conservation of Natural Resources, and the Joint Operational Board of PT Bumi Siak Pusako.

"I thank and welcome the plan to build the first Sumatran Tiger Conservation Center in Indonesia which will be built in the wildlife reserve of the Giam Siak Kecil Biosphere Reserve. I hope that this development program will be able to improve the economy of the community, especially communities around the conservation area. On the same occasion, the Head of the Riau Natural Resources Conservation Center, Suharyono, explained the background and basis for the selection of the Giam Siak Kecil Wildlife Sanctuary as the location for the construction of the first national Sumatran Tiger Conservation Center, in addition to that Suharyono also explained the concept of facilities and infrastructure management which would later be in build in the area.

"I and my team from the Riau Center for Conservation of Natural Resources have designated the Giam Siak Kecil Biosphere Reserve as the location of the construction of the first Sumatran Tiger Conservation Center nationally, based on several aspects.
